Stylus Music proudly present " THE SOUND OF BAKERSFIELD - THE GENE MOLES GUITAR RECORDINGS (1961-66)" (10P-TING 267).

Ventures fans will know the name of Gene Moles as he played with Nokie Edwards in The Marksmen back in 1961. Gene also composed some original material for the group such as 'Gringo' and 'Sunny River'. Although Gene played these recordings to the band it is unclear if he actually appeared on the finished product but they are included here just in case. Gene recorded for many local labels including the most hard rock take on 'Raunchy' you ever heard. To round off the programme we have two live tracks and to finish 5 minutes from the man himself talking about his career. An often overlooked artist on the CD medium we hope this puts this right.
