Stylus Music proudly presents "Obscure UK Labels Volume 3 (62-69) (10PTING303)

This includes many small but interesting labels such as Summit, Head, Pama, Action, Blue Horizon (pre CBS), Delta, Topic, Outasite and Teepee. Many of these labels only issued a handful of releases and for labels such as Blue Horizon and Outasite in editions of just 99 copies to beat the Purchase Tax laws.

Nick Nantos was an ex Bill Haley sideman for some time, Village featured the talents of organist Peter Bardens (Peter B's,Shotgun Express). A few tracks were recorded Stateside such as Bel-Cantos (Rumblers of 'Boss' fame), Little Mac Simmons and Hubert Sumlin (Howlin' Wolf's guitarist). The Action label took off in 1968 when Sue ended and we have three excellent tracks from their catalogue. If you like guitar with a heavier edge then Heavy Jelly are a case in point. At the time there were three bands all with the same name, confusing or what? Alan Hawkshaw hides behind the moniker of The Mohawks and there is a really rare guitar  instrumental from The Jet Set 'VC-10/Cruising' from 1964. Davy Graham has a very enigmatic style and he appears here alongside Alexis Korner. Hopefully plenty here that's new to you to enjoy. Oh, and look out for a new volume of Brit-Pop in May!
