SCANDINAVIAN INSTRUMENTALS GUITAR/SAX GROUPS OF THE SIXTIES:VOL 10 DENMARK - STYLUS - CD
Stylus music proudly presents " SCANDINAVIAN INSTRUMENTALS, GUITAR GROUPS OF THE SIXTIES Volume 10: Denmark" (10PTING 307)
Tenth in the series and we reckon this is as good as any of the previous volumes. This time these are studio recordings from 1961-68 displaying a variety of styles.
Some unusual Shadows covers 'What a lovely tune' (really!), 'Blue Shadows' plus a great Nero & the Gladiators B side in 'Boots'. Although the guitar is dominant there is a great cover of Booker T's 'Outrage' and Johnny & the Hurricanes 'Down Yonder' for contrast. This set opens with four vibrant numbers from The Danish. Sharks. Although the Shadows remained very popular in Denmark, many groups follow their own, interesting path.
