I do apologise in advance, there is a lot here to read. 

It seems that as of the 1^st July 2021 the 22Euro 'grace' period for customers buying from the UK will end. This in turn means that VAT will be charged at the relevant border on items purchased from Leo’s Den / UK. Many of you will rethink your purchases from us, which I completely understand. I just would rather be upfront, then you have any shocks if your order is held at the border.
It may not be a surprise that this has happened but I was genuinely hoping at worst, that they would keep the 22 Euro limit, but it is not to be. 
Royal Mail are working on software that may help us add VAT at the point of purchase and then transfer this info/payment to the relevant border control. It is sadly running behind schedule though. 

From what I understand border control will add your countries VAT to the item and include a handling fee. We do not know if this is every parcel or how they monitor this I'm afraid.

I still happily welcome any purchases from our EU friends, if you are happy to continue with us and if you do, please order in the usual way. If you have any questions please do feel free to ask and I will do my best to help. juliette@leosden.co.uk 

While you are here I must add....
I am unsure whether these changes will initially cause chaos and delays at border controls, so please do be patient with your order. We are all on a learning curve. I am also unsure if they are checking every parcel.

A suggestion that may help and that is tp collate/combine orders, that way the handling fee the border add will be on one parcel rather than two separate parcels. 

I am hoping to offer more downloads which will hopefully help in some cases. Especially when it comes to Roger Paulsson and Ian McCutcheon BT. Do email if a download is preferred and I will see what can be done. 

A couple of necessary points..If your order is at border control and it gets returned to us, due to non collection then I will happily refund it but I am afraid I will not be able to refund the shipping. If the item needs to be reshipped then I would need to charge for re-shipment. Even taking into consideration good will, reshipment charges are simply down to there not being enough margin in products to swallow these costs. However if the fault is with anything we have done, of course we will cover those costs.  Finally I am unable to put 'gift' on all EU orders as I have an electronic Royal Mail business account and they monitor all accounts.

Thank you for getting this far when reading. I do want to say that all our customers are very much valued and most have been with us for years which is truly wonderful. Because of that, changes like we are going through now matter and I don't mean just financially, they mentally have an effect too. So if we can improve anything along the way, rest assured we will.
