These are 45s from the collection of the late Phil Tricker all taken from the original American 45s and are almost entirely great, unknown rockers. Disc 1 covers 1958-66 and includes guitarist Johnny Jenkins and Cecil Moore. Disc2 covers a similar time period with again top guitarists such as Wild Jimmy Spurril, Kenny Frazier (from the Jimmy Heap band) and the superb B.B. Cunningham. For out and out rockers look no further than Conny & the Bellhops and King Curtis. If you like a little boogie piano on the side, then the final 4 tracks on disc 1 are a true delight. Be warned there is a volume 3 & 4 on the cards for later in the year. As usual there are some detailed sleeve notes included.
