Stylus: This regular series reaches Volume 7 with 25 new tracks taking on the Shadows legacy from those many artists worldwide. Included are two tracks which were originally Cliff songs, Dynamite and She's Gone, both of which are stylish guitar rockers . The son of ex-Tornado, George Bellamy appears on a live version of Man Of Mystery from Muse. The sparkling Brazilian band, The Sparks really add life to yet another version of Apache whilst The Jet Blacks from the same country perform a great version of Theme for Young Lovers. the most obscure cover is a track from Established 1958, Voyage to the Bottom of the Bath from South Africa's Raiders. Hank performed a superb rendering of Richard Rodgers, Slaughter on 10tyh Avenue at the tail end of the sixties. Bowie sidekick, Mick Ronson cut a similar version for RCA in 1974 featuring Aynsley Dunbar on drums. Other highlights include two versions of Jerry Lordans hit Diamonds for the Man from nowhere. Keeping the original style are Los Rangers but updating the feel are K. Wallis & the Dark Shades of Night using the rhythm section of Dire Straits to maximum effect. Brian Bennett fans will enjoy the version of Pulaski whilst the disco bass feel is ever present on this version of Riders in the sky. We hope you Shads fans will relate to these new discoveries.
