STYLUS : Almost 30 groups from the 60s that made famous vocal hits in many cases but did not parade their instrumental ability to the masses. The Beatles and The Stones offered occasional treats but also  the Dave Clark 5 who cut ballads as well as great rockers. The Small Faces liked the sound of Booker T as did  the much sought after The Quik. Many tracks were kept for albums such as The Kinks and Honeycombs. Before they existed as Slade, they were Ambrose Slade and their debut LP had two classic tracks, fans of The Cougars will delight in The Fortunes ‘Cygnet Twist’ otherwise known as ‘Sat,nite at the duck pond’. The Swinging Blue Jeans have a track from their debut US LP, not released in the UK whilst The Squires offer the theme to TV’s ‘Pop The Question’. The tracks below speak for themselves.
