The tracks here are almost exclusively based from the USA except for the single by Irish band, THE DIXIELANDERS playing a couple of sought after tracks in the style of The Tornados, and also cuts from French Vogue. We commence in the early 50s with Johnny Ace, a singer and piano player. He played Russian Roulette with himself backstage after a date on Christmas Day 1954, but he lost. Three tracks from Vogue-Coral arrived in 57 featuring tenor players King Curtis and Al Sears.3 tracks from Johnny 'Rock' guitar feature French guitarist Marcel Bianchi and it the style of American RnR combos./The EP cover has a misleading picture of a coloured guitarist who had certainly no connections to Bianchi. There's a track from Johhny Otis Ep featuring his son ,Shuggie on guitar whilst another EP cut from Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown, a rather brash effort. Time for a little exotica from ARTHUR LYMAN with both sides of his 'Vera Cruz' single plus the rare cut that was issued by Vocalion (not Vogue). This was composed by Lalo Schifrin and known as 'The Jungle cat'. From the West Coast a surf-soul band known as THE RHYTHM KINGS offer two exquisite sides. A native of New Orleans offers up the rhythmic organ work 'Tubby pt2' whilst guitarist Buddy Merrill gives his own brilliant  composition ' The Sherk'. The rest of the CD is mostly taken up by guitarist BIILY STRANGE with a variety of Bond themes plus Moriconi and not forgetting the wonderful 'Munsters Theme' from 1964.

Should your appetite be whetted, the first volume (Stylus 69) is also available with tracks from The Cannonballs, Fugitives, Challengers, Jimmy Cavello, Cozy Cole and Dick Jacobs etc.
